Taiwan tracks 23 Chinese ships, 12 military aircraft

The Ministry of National Defense tracked 12 Chinese military aircraft, 14 naval vessels, and nine official ships around Taiwan between 6 a.m. on Thursday and 6 a.m. on Friday. Six of the 12 People’s Liberation Army aircraft crossed the Taiwan Strait median line in the nation’s northern and southwestern air defense identification zone, according to the MND.

Nineteen governments have agreed to purchase F-35s; of those governments, seven are U.S. allies and considered partners that share the cost of development with the United States. Marines reactivate East Coast squadron with Corps’ newest fighter jet

The Marines have reactivated a fighter squadron with a lineage that traces back to Guadalcanal as the first East Coast squadron to fly the Corps’ newest fighter jet. Marine Attack Fighter Squadron 251, or VMFA-251, received its first F-35C Lighting II Joint Strike Fighter in mid-September before the unit officially reactivated in a ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, on Dec. 5, according to the service.
