Two dead in Navy helicopter crash in Oman
Carrying five crew members, a U.S. Navy MH-53E Sea Dragon crashed in the Persian Gulf nation of Oman, approximately 60 miles southwest of Muscat on Thursday. Three crew members were injured and two previously reported as missing have been confirmed dead.
The aircraft and crew were conducting heavy lift support operations in the area. The helicopter was assigned to Helicopter Mine Countermeasure Squadron (HM) 15, based in Norfolk, Va.
